NAVIGATING THE COLLEGE PROCESS TOGETHER

Student-Athlete Scholarship Facts
Many high school student-athletes COULD get some type of athletic scholarship, but don’t.

Most go un-noticed by colleges that are out of their local media area.

Most wait until their senior year of high school hoping that college coaches will come to them.

Most families have an uninformed opinion of their student-athlete’s athletic abilities and only look at Division I colleges.

Most student-athletes depend on their coaches and/or tournaments for opportunities. However, if you don’t take an active role and have a plan to maximize these resources, you will be disappointed.

Only a fraction of all college athletes get a full scholarship, most may get a partial or don’t get one at all. Therefore, families need to plan to care for the balance of their student-athlete’s college expenses.

So What Do You Need To Do
First and foremost, remember that the goal of going to college is to get a great education and have a positive college experience so your student-athlete is positioned for future success!!!

Student-athletes need to look at schools representing Division II and III as well as the NAIA.

Planning ahead, doing research, visiting schools and improving your knowledge of the process will make all the difference in achieving scholarship success.

Staring early and building an effective “awareness campaign” is the key to getting the “right” exposure which can lead to the “right” opportunities.

How We Can Help
We educate, advise and consult with families, and their student-athletes, on the many facets of the college process so they improve their ability to position themselves for future success.

We work directly with student-athletes on the steps necessary to effectively market themselves and improve their opportunities for scholarships and college exposure.

We coach families on how to best address their student-athlete’s upcoming college experience in an organized, proactive and efficient manner.

We can help reduce the cost of college, lower your family’s potential for debt, increase your savings potential for the future and enable your student-athlete to participate in college athletics.
