2010 Girls Summer Travel Team
We are pleased to announce the details for the 2010 Leading Edge Girls Travel Team Program.
We plan to have the following teams for the summer/fall of 2010:
- Rising Seniors - Leading Edge 2011
- Rising Juniors - Leading Edge 2012
- Rising Sophomores - Leading Edge 2013
- Developmental Team - Current 7th & 8th Graders
- The coaches will take you to the next level and prepare you to play HS lacrosse!
Team Details:
· There are no tryouts for the Leading Edge Girls Travel Teams.
· Due to NCAA regulations we are not permitted to have tryouts. All players must live within a 50 mile radius of Piscataway, NJ (NCAA Req.)
· We feel it is more important to have D1 level coaches and players on the staff. After all it is the quality of the coaches that makes for a successful program.
· Players interested in playing for Leading Edge during the summer and fall of 2010 can reserve their place by registering on line. Click HERE TO REGISTER.
· You will be required to pay a $75 fee at the time of the initial registration to reserve your spot. Once the schedule and fee has been finalized the balance will be due in March 2010.
· Registration is now open and will remain open until February 15, 2010 or until all available slots are filled, whichever comes first.
Tournament Schedule (Tentative, subject to change):
1. June 12 – 13 Lax By The Sea – New Egypt, NJ
2. June 18 – 20 Capitol Cup – Boyd’s, MD
3. July 9 – 11 Upper Atlantic – Downingtown, PA
4. July 15 – 18 Club National Championship – Boyd’s, MD
Practice Schedule & Location (Tentative, subject to change):
· Practices will take place on Monday’s & Wednesday’s at either Rutgers University or Rutgers Prep School.
· June 6, 7, 9, 14, 16, 23
· July 5, 14
Practice times have yet to be determined.
Fee:
The tentative fee to participate will be $1,000. Once the exact tournament schedule is finalized we can provide an exact fee. Your fee includes the following:
· All tournament entry fees
· Game uniform (Reversible Jersey, two t shirts, shorts)
· Practice jersey (Reversible)
· Coaches
· Insurance
· Practice facility
· Field equipment, balls, goals, etc…
· The only out of pocket expenses would be travel, lodging and meals for overnight trips.
The total number of tournaments and practices will have the biggest impact on the fee.
Program Directors:
Michelle Poole
Michelle is a 2009 graduate of Rutgers University. Michelle was a 4 year player on the Women’s Lacrosse Team. She was captain of the team since her Junior season. Michelle played her high school lacrosse at West Morris HS where she received All American honors her senior year. Michelle is currently the Head Lacrosse Coach at The Pingry School.
Kelly Nangle
Kelly is currently an assistant coach for the Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse Team. Nangle graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md., after a stellar career as a defender on the Mountaineers women’s lacrosse team. She was a four-time All-NEC selection, receiving First Team honors her senior campaign. She finished her career second in ground balls (204), fourth in caused turnovers (116) and eighth in draw controls (65), and was selected to participate in the Division I North/South Senior All Star Game.
After graduating with a degree in Business, Nangle spent a season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Mountaineers women’s lacrosse team, working with the defense. In 2007 she was named the head coach of St. John’s Catholic Prep girl’s lacrosse team, increasing the squad’s win total by four from the previous season en route to two All-Conference and two All-County players.
